He’s not just for Christmas!

So, 2012 is almost over as we welcome the twelfth month into our lives. Home to today’s shopping extravaganza ‘mega monday’, the longest day of the year and a truck load of mince pies, December is upon us whether we like it or not. Usually, us Brits pray for snow to hit and this year it’s definitely likely, with ‘a light flurry’ hitting the northern ski slopes in County Durham and Scotland just yesterday.
But even if it’s not a white Christmas this year, we still get to count down the days munching on choccies from our advent calendars – to Christmas not to the Mayan’s apocalypse. Hey, we’re still allowed them no matter how old you are!
November’s half hour challenge theme ‘Wild’ proved very successful for our writers and, shortly, we shall be popping up the three best entries for you, so look out for them throughout this week and next.
In store for December’s theme is something you will have heard, read or seen throughout the festive cheer and you’d be a Scrooge not to give it a go with, ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’. Maybe in your piece, the mouse did stir or maybe it didn’t even exist, but whatever you write about, make sure it gives us that heart-warming and gooey feeling that makes us reach for those tissues each time – whether it be from laughing or crying. And from all of us at Inkblots, Merry Christmas. 🙂
